verdant maintenance control disks
Your vegetation solution on the I-beams at your Solar Array
I-beams create an unusual problem for mowing and vegetation management. The way that the I-beams are designed causes it to be an extremely difficult and labor-intensive job to keep grass and
weeds from growing around them, with the added difficulty of mowers being unable to get close to the beam. On the I-beam itself, the indented area has to be addressed by hand or a weed whip, which
requires hours of resources. With these challenges in mind, our engineers and solar vegetation specialists have designed our disks so weed mitigation of the area around the i-beam has been eliminated.
The USA made, patent pending
Weed Blocker disks are designed with two halves that are identical. For easy installation, turn one half 180 degrees from the other, slide onto the i-beam, snap it together and slide to the ground. No tools required. Once locked together, the two haves will be locked around the beam creating a 24" base. The disk will eliminate any grass under it in a few days after installation. The disk's flexibility will create solid contact with uneven ground, and the domed design will shed water away from the I-beam to help with atmospheric corrosion and erosion. The disks can be installed on existing solar arrays or at the time of construction when the I-beams are being installed. Typically, clients will see a minimum savings in mowing time of 20% by not having to mow around the i-beams, as well as eliminating the extreme labor of weed whipping, resulting in significant vegetation management savings. Although designed for I-beams, any shape can be cut out of the center to meet your needs.
Durable
We make our discs of HDPE which can be stored outdoors for 40+ years in any weather your region throws your way. Resistant to scratching, impacts, and where and tear, we designed weed blocker discs to be able to take the impact of a lawn mower to make managing your sites easier and more cost effective.
Made with 100% recycled plastic
HDPE the most commonly recycled plastic. We chose to make our discs out of this plastic to help control the amount of waste brought into this world. When the disks have reached the end of their used purpose, it can be recycled again into another product. Along with the discs, our shipping materials are made from 95% recycled cardboard.
